What We Do
Our team is our family. We work with our scribes to ensure that they are equipped and trained to be successful as a best in class medical scribe. A well trained and well supported medical scribe helps ensure that the medical chart is properly and efficiently prepared; which in turn means the provider and the patient have a better experience. Every location is served by three levels of scribes.
The Student Scribe
The first, student scribe, is the backbone of our operations. Student scribes are college students who are on a pre-health track; pre-med, pre-PA or Pre-nursing and have a strong background in medical terminology before they enter our Scribe Academy. They work on average two shifts per week.
The second level of scribes on site are the senior scribes who mentor and train our student scribes. These full-time employees have demonstrated their mastery of the medical note, displayed professional interactions with providers and have created and maintained excellent personal relations within our team. Seniors are tasked with working as a scribe, performing monthly audits, assisting with ongoing training, scheduling and whatever else is needed from the site they are working at.
The third level of scribe on site is the designated Site Lead. The Site Lead serves as the leader of the location and is tasked with overall responsibility for that location, from scheduling, scribe training or adjusting coverage to the locations needs.
The benefits of Helix extends to billing and coding as well. Our medical note standardization training ensures that scribe notes are consistent across our team.
A Standardized Medical Chart
The Helix team teaches how to craft the optimal medical chart and we worked with physicians to standardize it across the health systems where we work. The result? A medical chart with a consistent look and feel, independent of the invidual scribe. Not only do the providers benefit froma standardized note, but other departments benefit as well.
"Our coders 100% prefer the scribe charts!"
